YOU NEVER KNOW
Roxann Latimer

Reviewer: The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers (see more about me) from RAWSISTAZ Book Club
Caressa, Sharmayne, Rayne and Jade are four very confident and beautiful women who have been friends for a long time. While they each have their own issues and secrets, they are always there for each other. But more than anything else, each of them yearns for unconditional love and happiness with their significant other.

In Roxann Latimer's You Never Know, we take an emotional journey of love and discovery with these four wonderful women that runs the gamut of emotions. As a reader you want these women to work through their problems and find true happiness. Overall, I enjoyed You Never Know. However, I felt that the lack of explanation of certain events , and the transitions from one character to another seemed a little rushed and hurt the storyline somewhat. Despite these two issues I believe Ms. Latimer has a good writing voice and I look forward to reading more of her work.

5 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, February 20, 2004

This is a wonderful CD...This Velvet Teddy-Bear is extremely soothing, and warm. I am very glad that I bought this CD, and I am sure will enjoy it for years to come...his voice, style, and choice of lyrics is refreshing and timeless. I didn't doubt that he could hold his own. I LOVE YOU RUBEN.The first full-length effort from second-season American Idol winner Ruben Studdard is an unassuming album that will surely please his fans. Studdard works in the vein of mainstream R&B crooners like Luther Vandross; here, he even covers "Superstar," the Leon Russell/Bonnie Bramlett song associated with Vandross. Other familiar material includes a close, if foreshortened, copy of Al Greens version of "How Do You Mend a Broken Heart," and the standard "For All We Know," so memorably sung by Billie Holiday on Lady in Satin. A fair bit of time is spent making sure we know that despite his success, Ruben hasnt changed. Indeed, he comes off as modest and charming; as for electrifying, hes less so. As a CD that couldve easily pandered much more to the whims of casual TV viewers, though, Soulful is a perfectly acceptable debut. --Rickey Wright
